Holiday Gifts For Dogs

December 15 2021

The holiday shopping rush is officially upon us! It’s not always easy finding just the right things for your loved ones. However, while shopping for your aunt may be difficult, at least it shouldn’t be hard to pick things out for your canine pal! Read on as a local Champaign, IL vet lists some great holiday gifts for Fido.

Puppies

Little Fido is very curious and playful, and is still trying to get the hang of being a dog. Lots of toys are definitely in order. Be sure to include plenty of chew toys! This is also a perfect time to get your four-legged friend used to having his paws and teeth handled. Doggy dental products and beauty supplies make great stocking stuffers!

Adult Dogs

Once your pooch is all grown up, he’ll probably be quite fond of going on walks and adventures. Pick up some things that are good for a doggy on the go. A good reflective leash with a flashlight is a good option for night walks, while a water bottle with an attached dispenser may be handy on the trail.

Senior Dogs

By the time Fido reaches his golden years, he’ll be more interested in napping than in chasing squirrels. Things like comfy beds, pet ramps and stairs, and soft toys are great options for senior dogs. While good beds are important for all pups, they are especially crucial for older ones. Consider getting your pooch an orthopedic bed. Your furry pal may also benefit from taking certain supplements. Ask your vet for specific advice.

Tips

Age isn’t the only thing to keep in mind when shopping for your four-legged pal. Fido’s size is also something to consider. Personality is important too! An active pup will be delighted with lots of toys, while a furry couch potato may prefer a comfy bed. Of course, treats are a great option for any pup!

Homeless Dogs

This is also the season of giving. There are far too many pups out there with nobody to love them or give them treats, toys, beds, or belly rubs. Consider making a donation in your canine friend’s name, or perhaps dropping off supplies. Every little bit helps!
